Nursery School (3-5’s)

Children can be placed on the 'wanting to join' list at any time. You can register for a place on the list by completing the form with the following link  - Registration Form.

If you would like to find out about the nursery please read through our website, watch our virtual tour or call the school office on 01403 224430

When placing your child’s name on the wanting to join list we invite you to come and meet the Headteacher and have a guided tour of the nursery. This gives you an opportunity to look around the nursery, ask questions and ensure that it is the right place for your child.

Funded entitlement (FE) places are available the term after your child’s 3rd birthday. The cut off dates for each term are 31st August, 31st December and 31st March each year.

The 15 hour FE places are offered over either 5 mornings (9-12) or 5 afternoons (1-4) alternatively some 2½ day places are available for working parents – either Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning or Wednesday afternoon Thursday and Friday. Parents choosing the 2½ day option will need to pay for lunches on the full days.

Having chosen a core pattern parents can then add on additional sessions, either as part of their 30 hours entitlement if they are eligible or by paying for additional sessions. If you choose sessions over breakfast, lunch or tea you will need to pay for the meals or provide packed meals. The 30 hours may also be taken over 3 full days 8am-6pm.

Once you have been offered a place you will also be offered a home visit. This is a chance for your child to meet their Key Carer and another member of the nursery team in a safe environment. This is an opportunity to share information and begin to build up a relationship with Key members of the nursery staff.

Tours of the Nursery for Over 3's

Tours of the nursery school (Over 3’s) take place on Thursday mornings between 9.30 -11am. If you would like to come and have a look and see what we have to offer please call the nursery office on 01403 224430 to arrange a convenient date to visit.

Headcount Day and FE hours

Headcount Days are set by West Sussex County Council for each term. A child in receipt of funding must be in attendance by this date to access any funding for that term. The only exception to this is for Local Authority funded 2 year olds (those issued with a six-digit code) who can start at any point during the term. Headcount days are usually mid January, April and September. Once your child is using their funded hours, if you choose to increase your child's hours after Headcount Day, any increases to the funding cannot be made until the start of the following term. Families in receipt of funding will be asked to complete an FE Parent Declaration Form. We are unable to make any funding claims without this form. We will ask you to complete a new form if any circumstances change eg address, change of sessions, change from 2 year to 3 year funding.
